Vacation... Obama Style!

August 2008

Before tackling the Democratic National Convention this week in Denver, Barack Obama and his family enjoyed some R&R in Hawaii, a place very close to Barack’s heart.  Similar to many families facing financial crisis, the Obama’s really know a thing or two about vacationing on a budget.  Barack enjoyed some tee-off time for as low as $33.00 and enjoyed some hefty hamburgers with Michelle and the girls for a mere $8.00.  The Aloha Tropical Farm appreciated the soon-to-be first family’s presence where admission is as low as $2.00 per person.  And for those who may think Barack can’t hang, that’s where you are wrong!  Barack spent a significant amount of time body surfing the waves of the Pacific!  Talk about, Surf’s up!  But, of course, you know the Obama’s had to finish off with style, while hosting a $2,300.00 per plate fundraiser.  Talk about upper middle class!!!

To enjoy a family vacation in Hawaii like the Obama’s, click the Contact link and call Loren Adams, Travel Advisor.  The pineapple state awaits your arrival.  Aloha!  To read more destination articles, click the Articles link on the company website.

RIU Palace Los Cabos, Mexico - Fit for a King and Queen!

July 2008

When you think of the word, palace, one often thinks of a castle, butlers/maids, fine dining, and the highest quality of service.  Well, just add a beautiful sunset, live nightly entertainment, and spa services and you have just been introduced to the RIU Palace in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.  Located just three miles from downtown Cabo San Lucas, the family, all-inclusive, state-of-the-art resort screams luxury from the moment your transfer drops you off in front of the building…palace.

From regal sculptures to antique décor to highlight the open foyer, the RIU Palace is surely fit for a king and queen.  As you are complimentary served a chilled cocktail upon arrival, you are shortly escorted to your room by concierge service.  As you open your room door, one can't help but to notice the regal deep hues of burgundy and gold suited for royalty.  Marble floors stretch across the room as you are lead to a seating area and deck/patio.  The large deck/patio windows embrace the wonderful scenery the resort has to offer.  After you unload and enjoy the complimentary mini-bar fully stocked with Mexico’s finest spirits, one must stroll to see what else the RIU has to offer.

As you make your way back to the main foyer, one can't help but to visit the 24-hour main bar and lounge.  Arranged with pool tables and ample seating, the lounge overlooks the entire resort, taking view of the crashing waves of the Pacific, tranquil pools, and the broad beach occupied by beach vendors, volleyball heavies and bathing beauties.  Afterwards, take a load off and enjoy the pool.  Hop into those shorts and bathing suits and take a dip.  While you’re at it, be sure to partake in a second cocktail offered on either pool side, all while reading a good book of course.  The RIU offers two pools – one for fun and games and the other for a little R&R.

After a full afternoon of water activity, we all know the after effect: hunger.  Whether you desire quesadillas, red beans and rice, or just some good ole' pizza, your fingers will find something to grab and enjoy at the full buffet.  The RIU offers a number of restaurant options: Mexican, Japanese, Italian, Steak, etc.  Reservations are required.  Each night,  entertainment is organized for your eyes and listening pleasures.  All entertainment takes place on the main stage.  Stepping into town?  Shore and land excursions may be arranged by concierge service in the main lobby.  For those interested in visiting downtown Los Cabos at night, taxi service can be arranged in the main lobby.  Note: The entrance to the RIU Palace is extremely dark and bombarded with taxi drivers.  Be safe and arrange taxi service in the lobby.  One does not have to travel downtown to party the night away.  The RIU’s, Pacha discotheque is open nightly, playing the latest top 40 hits.  Not to mention, offering extraordinary bar service and atmosphere.  The RIU Palace offers a number of amenities and services, from on-site childcare, arts and crafts, spa service, a fully-equipped gym, a service center, convenient stores, etc.

RIU Palace guests have nothing but positive words to say about their stay.  “I was impressed with the overall service,” says Jerome Adams, a Maryland resident who came to celebrate his one-year anniversary.  I was really taken by the served cocktails during check-in and throughout my stay.”  Another couple from Detroit, Michigan can attest to Adams’ comments about the RIU.  “We came here for a wedding.  It was absolutely beautiful.  We took a boat over to the “Lover’s Cove”.  It was amazing!  We also really enjoyed Marlin fishing.”

Well, there you have it! The RIU Palace is a wonderful destination to enjoy with family, friends, or that special loved one.  The RIU Palace will embed fantastic memories and leave you planning next year's vacation.  You deserve to be treated like royalty!
